Appeal following two burglaries in Willingham

Dear Resident,

We wanted to make you aware of two burglaries that have taken place in Willingham and ask for your help with our ongoing investigation.

The first incident occurred at about 3.50am on Monday, 21 September, when a man smashed the front door panel of the Co-op in High Street. A smoke security system was activated and the offender left empty-handed, running towards Church Street.

Police were then called at about 1am on Tuesday, 22 September, following a break-in at the One Stop store in Church Street. Two men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas arrived in a black vehicle, smashed the front window and stole cigarettes before leaving in the direction of Green Street.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

We appreciate these incidents will cause concern within the local community and would like to reassure residents that a thorough investigation is underway. I would encourage residents and business owners to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity, no matter how minor it may seem.
